以往同类题材，如《世界之战》，《僵尸世界大战》，构造人类和某种生物间的对立，并不算新鲜。但本片，在上集人类，人猿对立的基础上，还引入了第三群体病毒，使其相互制衡，同时升级了Cezer夹在人类与猩猩间的矛盾。从中产生化学反应，进而萌生更深层次的哲学话题，这是本作的创新所在
